About the Role
We are now looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our growing IT team in Oslo. You will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend solutions that support Dibber’s digital platforms and operations across multiple countries.
In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with our Chief Architect, developers across Norway and India, and cross-functional product teams. You’ll have the opportunity to influence architectural choices, drive development of new features, and contribute to building robust, high-quality applications that enable Dibber’s mission of helping every child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot) or .NET.
- Build, document, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices that integrate with frontend and product teams.
- Drive the development of new features and solutions independently and in collaboration with other backend engineers.
- Provide technical guidance, identify risks, and propose practical, scalable solutions.
- Monitor, operate, and optimize applications deployed on Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Contribute actively to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and agile workflows (Scrum or Kanban).
About You
- Higher education in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience as a backend developer, preferably in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot) and/or .NET, and familiarity with Python and SQL.
- Experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Comfortable working both independently and in a team-oriented, cross-cultural environment.
- Fluent in English; Norwegian is an advantage.
