Are you a skilled Geologist / Geophysicist / Geoscientist? Join Petrolia Noco and be part of our dynamic team in Bergen!

Petrolia Noco has been exploring the Norwegian shelf since 2012, and we will continue to do so in the years to come. Our recent acquisition of 12.3% of the Brage field signals a new phase and a new beginning for our organisation. As we expand our already promising exploration portfolio, mature discoveries into production, and add assets to our production portfolio, we are seeking talented individuals to join us on this exciting adventure that begins now. Read more about the company and our ambitious plans further down in the job advertisement.

Petrolia Noco is currently looking for new team members, and particularly Senior Geologist / Geophysicist / Geoscientist. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting exploration and development projects across our portfolio, including APA rounds and operated licenses. You will work with seismic interpretation, prospect generation, attribute analysis, and contribute to reservoir characterisation in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Additionally, you will play a key role in maturing drilling candidates and identifying new exploration opportunities that can create value for our company.

Through your broad expertise, you will work closely with both technical teams and management, contributing significantly to strategic decision-making, and also help mentor junior geoscientists in their professional development.

The position is based at our new headquarters in Bergen, located within the newly constructed office facilities at Lagunen.

Qualifications we are looking for:

Our new specialist holds a minimum MSc in one of the Geosciences, and has at least 5 years of experience with geoscience work on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). You have strong expertise in seismic interpretation, volumes and risk assesment,  and prospect evaluation. Familiarity with relevant software (e.g., Petrel, GeoX etc) is required.

Furthermore, you have a proven track record of contributing to exploration success and reservoir development in offshore basins. Experience with integrating data with other disciplines are highly valued.

As an individual, you possess excellent analytical capabilities. Your nature is proactive, inventive, and self-driven, enabling you to thrive both in collaborative team settings and when working autonomously to deliver results of high quality. You have a genuine enthusiasm for uncovering subsurface potential and take pride in delivering high-quality geophysical evaluations. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Petrolia Noco is a company:
  • where you can directly influence the company's direction, and the success of the company is directly linked to the success of the individual and the team, where your individual efforts are seen and rewarded, and your career development is directly supported through courses, on-the-job training, field trips etc.
  • where you can learn all aspects of exploration and production, where you one day are a technical expert and the next you evaluate commercial matters, do business development or pitch to the Board – or, where you can choose to dive deep into the technical side of the business, developing your domain expertise
  • where you engage in the entire fluid journey from the outer boundary to point of sales, from prospect to production
  • where your opinion matters and with minimal distance from idea to execution and from domain expert to Board and CEO, all information is shared broadly and openly
  • where lower emissions production and decarbonisation are not only buzzwords but part of our strategy and in the line of sight through concrete projects
  • where we appreciate flexible work opportunities, and where we are ambitious and hard-working while making sure to have fun in the process

More about the Petrolia Noco's ambitious plans:
  • we will be an independent license partner or operator of producing fields on the NCS with a robust platform for further growth
  • we will extend our exploration asset portfolio success to the entire NCS, continuing to create value from exploration
  • we continue developing an effective hands-on operating organisation to extract the maximum value from every asset through domain knowledge, smart asset management, and active involvement
  • we will create profitable growth through smart reinvestment of cash flow from producing fields into exploration, development, and acquisitions
  • we will be a company with proven expertise in lower emissions license management and active participation as operator in CCS projects
  • we will create value for all stakeholders, with stakeholders being defined as the employees, the shareholders and investors, and the society

What can we offer?
  • a creative and fun work environment where technical expertise and exploration experience are shared and valued, in a dynamic environment with a short route from idea to decision
  • relevant professional training and great development opportunities through hands-on involvement in all technical, business, commercial and strategic aspects of oil and gas exploration
  • flexible working hours and place of work
  • competitive salaries, good pension and insurance schemes
