Location: This position is fully mobile with base location onshore Yard at Rosenberg and Stord, and at later stage Offshore.
Description:
The Commissioning Engineer Heat Trace is responsible for engaging in and performing completion and commissioning activities related to fabrication testing, documentation preparation, and system testing of PWP topside equipment, with special attention to the Heat Trace scope.
Position Purpose
- Ensure completion and commissioning requirements of all PWP process systems, meeting project and operational requirements, including verification and assurance.
- Implement the commissioning certification and handover process according to the Project Completion Strategy for relevant systems.
- Ensure safe and efficient handover of relevant systems to the Asset Operations team upon completion of commissioning activities.
- Create detailed commissioning plans for Heat Trace systems.
- Supervise installation and commissioning of Heat Trace systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate Heat Trace activities regarding pipe testing and insulation.
- Perform quality checks on Heat Trace calculations, isometrics, and block diagrams.
- Conduct functional tests and troubleshoot issues during the commissioning process.
- Maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation and provide regular progress reports.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide training and guidance for operation and maintenance of Heat Trace systems.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Overall responsible for Heat Trace systems, providing supervision, direction, and guidance regarding:
- Execution of commissioning activities assigned by the Commissioning System Lead Electro.
- Verification of construction field installations according to design/ISO/P&ID in collaboration with System Lead.
- Reading and understanding P&ID and ISO drawings.
- Participation in check-out and verification (Walk Down/Yellow Line) according to the RFCC handover process.
- Planning and facilitating check-out/execution of static commissioning.
- Planning and facilitating dynamic commissioning activities.
- Participation in meetings for planning commissioning activities.
- Ensuring good communication between operations, maintenance, contractors, and suppliers.
- Daily reporting to the Commissioning System Lead regarding ongoing commissioning activities.
- Updating Master Dossier for P&ID red-line mark-up, valve and blinding list according to System Lead's instructions.
- Assisting with collection of documentation related to RFOC handover according to System Lead's instructions.
- Participation in pre-start-up and performance test reviews when necessary.
- Contributing and advising on process input to overall completion strategy and planning.
- Providing guidance and direction to the Process Commissioning Team, including development and review of relevant commissioning procedures.
Qualification Requirements
Education:
- BSc in Engineering or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
- Electrician Certificate.
- Documented Ex competence with valid classroom courses.
