High Voltage Engineer – Offshore Electrification Project

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Electrical System / High Voltage Engineer to join a large EPC offshore topside and electrification project. The right candidate will join a major greenfield and integration project and will have the opportunity to develop his/her skills with respect to electrical system engineering.  
Typical tasks will be:
  • Design and specify electrical system solutions and strategies for projects during the study, FEED, and detailed phases. Collaborate closely with project and company representatives across disciplines. The main electrification scope includes land cables, subsea cables, and HV equipment in both onshore and offshore substations.
  • Responsible for the Main Power Supply Package Specification, detailing the technical and functional requirements for high- and low-voltage suppliers to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
  • Manage high-voltage packages, including transformers, gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), and variable speed drives (VSD), from development through execution. This includes detailed engineering, fabrication, logistics, installation, contract management, and final handover to operations.
  • Assist in the design of electrical philosophies, strategies, typologies, single line diagrams, load lists, system descriptions, and PMS/PDCS systems.
  • Follow up electrical system calculations, analyses and assessments

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • FSE course
  • Ex course
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering from Norwegian continental shelf projects.   
  • Extensive experience with high-voltage packages such as transformers, gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), and variable speed drives (VSD).
  • Solid understanding of electrical system analysis and transmission systems
  • Experience from Offshore electrification projects. 
  • Proven track record in conceptual and detailed engineering for large-scale projects.
  • Experience and deep knowledge of electrical design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, ISO, DNV and IEC
  • Efficient communicator, who communicates well in English, both orally and in writing 
  • Cooperative working attitude and acceptance for multicultural team environment 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team 
  • Systematic and accurate, with high loyalty to deadline and quality requirements 
  • Proactive, seeking advice and share own experiences with others
