Vow Green Metals is spearheading the development of a new green industry. Our ambition is to become a leading European producer of biocarbon and other carbon-neutral products that enable the green transition in hard-to-abate sectors. We build, own, and operate biocarbon production plants based on advanced pyrolysis technology, converting biomass into high-quality biocarbon – a renewable alternative to fossil reduction agents in the metallurgical industry. The process also yields other valuable products, including bio-oil and bioenergy. Our mission is to accelerate the shift to renewable materials and enable sustainable growth across industrial value chains. Vow Green Metals is backed by strong owners providing growth capital and industrial expertise: HitecVision, a leading private equity investor in the European energy sector, together with regional renewable energy producers Vardar and Skagerak Energipartner.

Purpose of position: Responsibility for leading the technical aspects of a project, coordinating engineering teams, and ensuring technical solutions adhere to quality, time, and financial goals. Bridge the gap between engineering and project execution, work closely with project managers, and may also engage with end users to manage technical deliveries. The Project Lead Engineer reports directly to the VP Projects and Project Director. The position is based at Lilleakerveien 2F, with additional responsibilities at relevant project sites as required. This is a hands-on, operational role that requires a significant amount of travel and active follow-up on-site to ensure technical progress and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles & Responsibility: As Project Lead Engineer you will assist Project Manager. Technical Leadership in studies and project execution by guiding engineering teams to ensure the technical quality and success og project deliverables. Your responsibilities include:

  • Coordination and Planning: Leading the technical work to meet specifications, safety requirements, and project timelines.
  • End- user/ customer Interaction: Maintaining contact with end-user/ customer regarding technical aspects and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Collaboration: Working with project managers to align on objectives and project deliverables.
  • Technical Improvement: Working with the technical department to develop and implement innovative ideas to improve technical solutions.
Competence: We are looking for a candidate with a BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering and a strong grasp of core engineering principles. You should have experience from engineering roles within the process industry and a clear understanding of project objectives, quality standards, timelines, and financial constraints. Some leadership training and/or proven leadership experience is important, along with a proactive approach to taking full ownership of tasks from initiation to completion. The role requires good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Norwegian. We recognize that valuable expertise comes in many forms. You are a confident communicator with well-developed interpersonal abilities and a natural talent for leading and coordinating diverse engineering teams. Your problem-solving skills are sharp, and you approach challenges with a structured and solution-oriented mindset. A strong sense of ownership and accountability for tasks and deliverables is essential. Additionally, a genuine interest in sustainability and the green transition will be considered a valuable asset.
